Fall Foliage And Your Roof

The oranges, yellows, and reds of the fall foliage are no doubt gorgeous to look at, but if left unchecked, can do some damage to your building’s roof. Check out the following suggestions on how to maintain your during the fall season:

#1 Clear downspouts and gutters.

Be sure that all of the drainage equipment, including but not limited to downspouts and gutters.

#2 Check for leaks and cracks in the exterior.

Snow, ice, and rain can easily seep into cracks of any size and cause significant damage. Be sure to have these cracks repaired before the late fall and winter season begins.

#3 Drain pipes.

To prevent water from freezing inside pipes and then bursting, be sure drains are flushed of water.

Also, throughout the cold weather season, be sure that you regularly run water through the pipes to prevent freezing and bursting.

#4 Schedule an inspection.
